Betty Jackson had early contact with fashion and design through her father’s shoe factory in Bacup. After her education at Bacup and Rawtenstall Grammar School she was taught by Zandra Rhodes at Birmingham College of Art, then worked for major names including Ossie Clark before establishing her own and her husband’s business in 1981. She has among other achievements launched M&S’s Autograph Collection, been given an MBE, and designed many of Edina and Patsy’s ultra-flamboyant clothes on Ab Fab.
