Began his career in local newspapers in Essex before moving to BBC Radio Carlisle as a news producer and presenter. Moved to Granada television in the early 1980s. Best known as the co-presenter of daytime television shows (This Morning and Richard and Judy) with his wife, Judy Finnigan.
