Born 1922 - Berlin, Germany - British painter.

Grandson of Sigmund Freud. Studied at Cedric Morris's East Anglian School of Painting and Drawing in Dedham. First solo exhibition was in 1944 at the Lefevre Gallery. Subjects are often the people in his life; friends, family, fellow painters, lovers, children. Exhibitions in London and Washington DC led to international recognition. Appointed to the Order of Merit in 1993.
