Made first appearance in Savoy Cinema, Glasgow at 13. Appeared in many radio variety series, achieving own series on Radio Scotland in 1949. Film debut in Floodtide (1949) and stage debut in Mr Gillie at King’s Theatre, Glasgow (1950). Well known for impression of Margaret Thatcher on television and radio during 1980s.
