Born 1890 - Adelaide, Australia. Died 1971 - Physicist and Nobel Prize winner.


Educated at Adelaide University and Trinity College, Cambridge. Discovered the Bragg Law in 1912. With his father studied crystals by X-ray diffraction. Shared Nobel Prize for physics. Became head of Cavendish Laboratory in Cambridge and helped create molecular biology and revolutionise biological science. Knighted in 1941.
