Events in St Clements Bay | 10 Places to Stay
St Clement's Bay is a long sandy bay situated on the south eastern coast of Jersey.
Its south facing aspect means plenty of sunshine along the long stretch of sand.
Some years ago, a story began amongst Jersey fishermen which talked of a roaring bull roaming around the rocks of St Clement's beach when the tide was out. People began to refuse to go down to the beach, even the fishermen refused to go down to the beach to fish! This continued until one fisherman refused to believe the tale and decided to search the rocks. Whilst searching, he heard the roar of the bull and decided to follow the sound. At the source of the sound he found a rock pool, where the rocks had been eroded to form a pipe. At low tide, water made roaring noise as it was sucked down the pipe. This noise then echoed loudly off all the rocks. The fishermen filled up the pipe, thus ending The Bull of St. Clement.
For accommodation in St Clement's you could try the Pontac House Hotel. On offer there is local food, a swimming pool and unrivalled views of St. Clement. Alternatively you could go self catering at the Samarès Coast Hotel.
