Yardley is a town positioned on the edge of the Cathedral City of Birmingham in the Midlands, the delightful Medieval church of St Edburgha's is intriguing, and the splendid black and white facade of Elizabethan Blakesley Hall reverses time with fine furniture and paintings. For architecture on a smaller scale Birmingham's Back To Backs will unveil a fascinating history, that shows what life was like from the 1840's right through to 1977. Smaller visitors will be well entertained at Cadbury World where it's chocolate all the way, or there is Ash End House Children's Farm where there's a chance to feed the animals, for all things fishy the National Sea Life Centre has a colourful collection of mesmerising marine creatures that lurk in the shimmering water. Calling all train buffs, Tyseley Locomotive Works will provide an unforgettable journey on a steam locomotive, or if the thrill of two wheels are first choice then perhaps the National Motorcycle Museum will please, for a more leisurely pace there's the Birmingham and Fazeley Canal to enjoy. Or be prepared to be dazzled at the Jewellery Quarter Museum where the ancient skills and expertise needed are explained during a memorable tour of this jewellery factory that's suspended in time.
