Kerridge is to be found close to Macclesfield in the County of Cheshire, in the countryside around what was one of the main producers of silk in the country. The village enjoys a particularly picturesque and rural location surrounded by the larger villages of Tytherington, Bollington and Rainow all of which are within the Borough of Macclesfield. Much of the village of Kerridge is the subject of a Conservation Order which means that many of the buildings there today are by their very nature Victorian in origin, built during the great Industrial period that saw Macclesfield achieve worldwide success as a silk producer. Today nestling in the Cheshire countryside the picturesque village of Kerridge offers the visitor the chance to visit the historic town of Macclesfield, enjoy the numerous Victorian houses in the area some of which are owned by the National Trust, there is TattonPark close by and together with the its easy access to Manchester it is understandable as to why Kerridge remains a firm favourite with both the visitor and resident alike.
