Situated in the heart of England, the picturesque village of West Haddon lies just four miles from junction 18 of the M1 in the Daventry district of Northamptonshire. There is good provision for the sporty type in West Haddon. There are two large playing fields, used for men's football, at the north end of the village. There's also a small children's play area, a tennis court, a petanque area and a cricket pitch with pavilion and car park. In the centre of the village there is a bowls lawn. With all this provision it is no surprise that West Haddon has many active sports clubs, including the tennis club, several youth football teams, a cricket team, a bowls club and a petanque club. There are a variety of walks available locally, with The Jurassic Way Long Distance Path passing right through the village. The Grand Union Canal and the beautiful reservoirs of Hollowell and Ravensthorpe are just a few miles away where bird watching, trout fishing and sailing can be enjoyed. Visitors can enjoy a stay at the Pear Trees Guest House, the only B&B in Northamptonshire to make the Good Hotels Guide three years running. You can also enjoy a good meal at the Sheaf Inn, a 19th century coaching house.
