Thorpe Hamlet

Thorpe Hamlet is home to a brewery, has over a dozen pubs and bars as well as a cinema, bowling alley and a number of restaurants. The Norwich Rail Station is on the boundary of the Hamlet and Thorpe Hamlet has been home to the 'Canaries' - Norwich City Football Club for a very long time.

Thorpe Hamlet lies on the Roman road from Norwich to Yarmouth and was the location of the huge encampment of Ketts rebellious army in 1549. At the turn of the last century it was home to the Artist John Ladbrooke. Along the ridge that led to Moushold heath there was a line of windmills feeding the local bakeries. The Parish Church in Thorpe Hamlet is Saint Matthew's Church in Telegraph Lane West.

Thorpe Hamlet is located on the eastern boundary of the City of Norwich in Norfolk, England. In global terms it is 52.6ý North and 1.3ý East. It is about 4 miles from Norwich City Airport, 18 miles West of Great Yarmouth and about 115 miles Northeast of London.
