Chelsfield
Although Chelsfield lies not far from the M25, it still retains it's rural
setting upon the North Downs. Although not far from urban combinations it
retains great charm with weather - boarded and original farm workers
cottages plus some grander houses. Some give away their previous uses. The
Church of St. Martin of Tours has a fascinating history and is very
attractive with a well supported team of bell ringers. The choir is
excellent.
The village school has changed little externally since it was built a couple
of hundred years ago. The addition of indoor loos was a plus for the 80 or
so primary school pupils.
The pub, named the 5 Bells before a 6th was added to the Church, is very
popular.
There are two village ponds.
The cricket ground is also used for the annual village fair while the
village hall hosts all kinds of activities from flower and produce shows to
yoga to amateur dramatics.
There is something for everyone
