Whether you're catching a plane or visiting Bishop's Stortford and its surrounds, you'll be making a good choice in booking up at Acer Cottage for your Stansted bed and breakfast accommodation. Though close to the airport you'll get a good night's sleep as we are distant from the traffic and the flight paths. In the morning between 7.30 and 9 am we'll set you up for the day or for your travels with our Full English or light breakfasts available with our own free range eggs. Stansted airport is 4 miles away and you can reach it easily by bus, train or car.

Our guest house is just five on foot from the centre of this historic town once inhabited by Romans, Saxons and Normans. The town's population has grown from 170 recorded in the Domesday Book to 35,000 today and now bustles with shops, pubs and at least 20 restaurants. Getting about by train is easy. You'll be within easy walking distance of the railway station from where there are good train services to Cambridge and as well as Stansted Airport. The motorway network is readily accessible, junction 8 of the M11 being only 2 miles away.

The b and b consists of this accommodation, all on the first floor: two double-bedded rooms with hand basins; a nearby twin-bedded room having adult-sized bunk beds; and an adjoining shared bathroom for sole use of guests. We can put up a single bed in one of the doubles to make a triple room. TV, facilities for tea/coffee making, hair dryers, electric fans and free WiFi access are standard features throughout the bedroom accommodation.
