St Leonards-Mayfield School is an independent Catholic boarding and
say school for girls aged 11-18, situated ion the award-winning village of
Mayfield, just 15 minutes from Royal Tunbridge Wells, on the Kent/Sussex
border. We have over 400 students, of which 115 makes up our Sixth Form.
The Times (27/8/05) classed St Leonards-Mayfield School as the Top Catholic
School in trhe UK. We offer a broad and balanced curriculum, with Maths and
Science more popular than Humanities or Arts. Excellent academic results,
along with strong pastoral care, and a wide range of extra-curricular
activities combine to create a unique learning environment based on the
school motto 'Actions not Words'.
We have a new purpose built Boarding House for Years 7 and 8 with a state of
the art IT suite, 42 inch plasma television and bedrooms shared between 2
and 4 girls. This follows the refurbishment of our Year 11 Boarding House,
which has enabled girls to study in the comfort of their own single or
double rooms.
All girls proceed to higher education and in 2005, seven girls went on to
Oxbridge.
