Take a relaxing break at Exmoor House, an award-winning, environmentally friendly guesthouse in Wheddon Cross, and escape from everyday life for a while. You can enjoy some fabulous food, all home-made using lovely local produce. Rooms are designed for maximum comfort and minimum fussiness: big comfy beds and thoughtful little touches that make a big difference, but no chintz or frilly curtains. Bright, fresh colours contrast well with the original wooden panelling (the house was built as a tailor’s shop and village reading room).

The atmosphere is friendly and homely. There’s a cosy guest sitting room, with log fires in winter, where you can relax with some tea and cake – or something stronger from the honesty bar. There is also a garden patio for guests to use. With no TVs, and very little mobile phone reception, this is the place to get away from it all. Exmoor House is in Exmoor’s highest village, right in the heart of the national park - a great base for exploring, whether on foot, by bicycle or in your car. See our website for details of special dinner, bed & breakfast packages. Planning a celebration, reunion or get-together? You can book sole use of Exmoor House for a party of up to 12 people.
