I have been with Brocklebank for a few months, and in December changed to a new Doctor. As a nurse and having worked as a medical secretary/reception, I understand the pressure to get people seen on time, work with allied health professionals etc. I worked at a very busy prestigous hospital in London and managed to do it efficiently and cheerfully. Sadly, it seems to lack in our healthcare industry. I have never been seen on time (remotely) with 2 last visits taking 45 minutes to be seen. Being pregnant and with a toddler makes this all the more harder than just waiting that long in a cold, clinical room when you feel unwell. There is no facility for children to play, although this is a huge clinic with many new mums, pregnant mums and children and elderly using the clinic. The receptionists have NEVER been friendly, I haven't had one professional, friendly, on time, making an effort scenario with anyone in the customer service (reception) which is disappointing. There are no magazines and so the 1/2 hour to 1 hour waits are tedious. The line for checking yourself in is often 3-5 people long. I have visited about 6-7 times before I changed to another doctor. In this time I went for myself, and my toddler. I didn't have a positive experience once. However, the doctors are brilliant. I have 2 main doctors I see but have seen 2 others. Only 1 of them dismissed me with futile info like go home and rest, drink water etc when he should have given me more (3 weeks later I was back, still ill and saw my normal doctor who said I should have had attention earlier) So the GP's are good, pity about the rest of the clinic

I am so impressed with this surgery, I always receive fantastic care and a sympathetic ear. Today was no different, in fact the doctor had a particularly good bedside manner. Given some of the negative feedback I hear from friends and family about their local GP surgeries I consider myself very lucky to have found such a good one.
