Good sign from the off - at Sweeney’s the young kiwi who served was friendly, attentive, and above all quick.
The red and cream walls, black beams and modern furniture – I bagsed the comfy sofa - blend nicely to create a relaxed atmosphere. Only in for a snack I ended up trying the special, Cumberland sausage baguette with red onion confit, chips and salad. Chips crispy, salad real – not ‘garnish’ – with radicchio and mustardy dressing, crusty baguette, and grease free herby sausage. Perfect in itself, and with well-kept Jennings for company the snack became a meal for less than £8. Excellent food, great service, loved it. 9/10

We only ate here but found the staff very welcoming, the food superb especially the lamb which was the best I'd ever tasted. Quite expensive but well worth it. Drinks especially soft drinks too expensive though. Entertainment (Robbers Dog) afterwards very good with most of the public joining in with the sing along. Discussed with another couple the next morning at our B&B who'd also had enjoyed their meal too and would also recommend the restaurant. We were informed that the place had just changed hands, well done!
