As a family of three, one under 12 months we chose to book one of the lodges as we felt that should the hotel have any events on - this would eliminate any possible noise. How wrong could we have been ..... The lodges face the marquee which had a wedding function on. The noise wasn't too bad until the function was over (approx midnight) to which we were greeted by constant chatter for over half an hour right outside our window. Had I known of this function then I wouldn't have booked this room and it would have been nice to have been informed of this function before we booked. Secondly, I have to say the reception staff are really quite unfriendly. When we came home one evening the key card wasn't working so baby in tow we reported this to reception who offered another card. Fine, but I asked that they come with me to check it worked (so as to save me a journey) and I was told "well, i really shouldn't leave reception" and although the girl came with me I was accompanied by a very disgruntled young lady. Finally, when we finally booked into the room (which was over 30 minutes waiting) - no apology whatsoever by the way - we went up to our lovley room by the way and my poor husband was watched by the reception staff as he unloaded the car and helped me to settle into the room. Aside from this, the room was really very very nice - bed a bit short but very clean and homely. Breakfast was delicious and the staff in the kitchens were superb and helpful. Price wise, I knocked them down by £30 a night without even trying. Have to say we booked out a day early as my husband just could not stand another night with his legs having to hang off the edge of the bed. Not sure if we'd stay again. If we did I'd certainly knock them down more price wise.

Good Points: Good sized room. Excellent bathroom/shower facilities. Bad Points: On our visit, by the time we had finished breakfast, there was a big queue developing! I think they were under-staffed that morning! We were also unable to get the TV to work! General Review: Very pleasant overnight stay. Quiet. Comfortable accomodation. Reasonable price. Plenty of parking spaces. Kind and cheerful staff. Excellent food. Pity they didn't have any real ale in the bar.(Especially since there are a number of good breweries in Norfolk and Suffolk.)
