Havent been in here for a couple of years but heard it was under new management. My wife and I loved the new look and the food was excellent. The waitress was dressed very smartly and was very pleasant if a little slow and lacking a little training. However, all in all,we would recommend the Queens Head to anyone.

Me,my partner and my son went to the Queen's head for our tea during they very snowy weather. The chef had not been able to make it due to the snow (which was understandable). However the manager made us our meals which arrived in reasonable time. The foo was delicious and the service was great. The burger was made from proper mince not frozen and even had homemade oinion rings whcih were the best I've tasted.the service was also great and the price was very reasonable.Worth a visit.

Hi there I would like to introduce myself as the new landlord of the Queens Head in Lanchester. I googled the pub & this site came up as the first link. Reading the revews, I see that in the past food & service at the pub left a lot to be desired. We have Created a brand new menu of delicious home cooked meals & puddings at a reasnoble price, & with top quality wine & ales come along & try us out, Many thanks

This pub has just recently been taking over by new owners. Myself and some friends went there for a few drinks to find ourselves enjoying some great entertainment with the band and the staff are outstanding. Also had some food earlier on in the day as I was contracted for some work in there and the food was brilliant. This is an excellent establishment dont pass up the oportunity to vist. Good luck Dan & Joanne.

Our first visit of the year to one of our favourite scranning places, previous visits saw us leave with big smiles on our faces, having enjoyed superb food , drink and service, not so tonight, hubby's food was wonderful, but mine was really poor. I ordered the chicken and mushroom pie, when it artived, it resembled the top half of a two day old Gregg's pasty, which has been microwaved, rendering it limp and unappetising, the filling (I use the term loosely)was peculiar,it was half a dozen small cubes of chicken and three 3cm squares of ham, along with one and a half button mushrooms, these were stuck to the underside of the pastry, no sauce at all. The manager looked at my plate and thought it was fish, he asked if it was ok, I said not really,, it was bizarre, at which he simply walked away. The young lady who was serving, was most apologetic, but said she could do nothing about it as I had already paid. It was so out of character, I can only hope the chef had a bad day, but it will be quite a while before we return.

Have visited the Queens on numerous occasions & have always enjoyed the food, ales & atmosphere with my husband & extended family. However, during my most recent visit I did not enjoy myself as I have come to expect too, the food was still its usual standard but the ales were not up to what we're used to. It was the attitude of the owner that put us off our visit which is a shame aswe previously enjoyed the company of the manager that is usually there.

I recently visited the Queens Head and had a lovely meal. The staff were very friendly and made me feel welcome. The drinks and certain meals seemed to be a bit on the expensive side, however the menu contained a wide variety of dishes. The restaurant wasnt very busy and i heard quite a lot of people complaining about various issues. Also the manager came across as being very nice however i was not best pleased with the way he was speaking to the staff, he was being rude and slighlt vulgar. Overall the pub and staff are very friendly however i dont think the manager is up to scratch.

Good bar meals at a reasonable price. Weekdays have OAP meals at special prices. They serve real ales which makes this pub the best in the village.

Beautiful pub with a great variety in real ales, however slightly on the expensive side, but we'll blame that on the government and the breweries so as not to offend. food has always been good, never had a bad meal once, and following on from the previous comment i've never seen mistreatment of the staff. The Queens, as im going to call it for short just for the craic is more an eating pub, but is still a'ight for a few beers. and callum works there, hes a good laugh....

the food at this pub was absolutley lush but i noticed a few times as i have been there more than once that the staff are being treat like crap and i dont think that it is acceptable. if they are going to complain to there staff they should do it in private not imbarress the poor buggers. there was a tall large looking man and a short man who seemed to be the manager or something, they were the ones who obviously had no idea on how to run a pub or how to handle there staff.. the food served to us was as prompt as it could be as i also noticed there were only two chefs in the kitchen who looked no older than 25 years of age.. i think that the owners need to sort out there managing staff and themselves instead of picking on people who are at the end of the day just trying to do there jobs.
