Hotel was of a very good standard, rooms etc had been recently refurbished. Gardens and swimming pool were also very good. We arrived at 11:30am having told them we would be arriving early to beat the traffic. The hotel door was locked. After ringng the bell the host answered the door but did not let us in - told us to go in town until 2:00pm. The gardens and pool were closed until 2:00pm and the bar was closed when we stopped for a drink after an evening meal in town. Good facilities shame about the hotelier.

We spent 6 nights here with our 11 year old in August 2006. Very good location - few minutes (rather hilly) walk to harbour and centre but still quiet. Plenty of parking which is vital. Our room had recently been refurbished. It was very clean with plenty of storage, TV, coffee, hairdryer etc. Beds were comfortable. Breakfast was good and cooked to order. Other food very limited but very good restaurants within walking distance (we went to Legends twice). Nice outside heated pool. Friendly staff but not in your face. We enjoyed our stay and it was excellent value for money. Would definitely go back if we visit Torquay again.

This hotel is what you pay for, it is cheap, therefore you get cheap rooms and average food. The service is not great, but what can you expect for 30 quid a night! I was on a stag do, and it was in a perfect location, literally 5 minutes away from the harbour and all the pubs and clubs, plus kebab houses. If I was going to Torquay on a stag, I would definitely choose this hotel again and give it 7/10
