We have just been to the Roebuck this evening with our 3yr old son. This is the second time we have visited the pub, the first time was fantastic, food was excellent location beautiful and lovely decor and atmosphere......however i was extremly dissapointed this time round, service was appauling!!!! booked a table for 6.30pm, we arrived at 6.15 and had a drink in the bar. At 6.40pm we hadnt been seated in the restaurant so someone came and took our order. We were finally seated at 7.10pm and received our starters at 7.20pm!! 40 mins after we were supposed to! we ate our starters and sat along time before been cleared. by 7.45pm we'd only recieved our starters we'd been there 1.5 hrs! we eventually received our main courses by which time our 3yr old son wan falling asleep at the table and refused to eat anything. I made a complaint to the manager about the service and was disgusted in the manner in which i was spoke to and was pretty much told 'tuff my staff were out on the drink last night'. All i asked for was for someone could of just explained why we were waiting so long as no one else in the restaurant had to wait! Appauled and wont be visiting again.

We have been visiting the Roebuck ever since Sue and family took over which is many years ago. We have always had good service and excellent food reasonably priced. We used to bring our children here and they were always made welcome, you never felt uncomfortable. We now bring the grand children who always find something to please them from the children's menu . We recommend this pub to everyone and will continue to do so.

My wife and I have eaten many times in the Roebuck over the past 12 years. The food is excellent with a wide range of choices. The staff are very pleasent with great service. The Inn is in a beatiful location overlooking manchester and oldham.I would recommend if you want a great meal for a reasonable price in anwell decorated inn the Roebuck is the place.

I have eaten at the Roebuck many times over the years and the food is very good, much of it is genuinely home cooked and lovely, HOWEVER, i have noticed the cleanliness has declined within recent times. the placemats were filthy, everywhere was dusty and the toilets hadnt been cleaned in a long time. this worries me as if they are happy to let you see this grime, then how clean is the kitchen where the food is prepared?! very disappointing.

Just writing to say, what a great place this is to eat, found it by chance, while out on a drive,so decided to book, just as well we did,the place was heaving & this was a tuesday night, that must say something for the food,ok we had a little time to wait, didn't mind as the food & my company more than made up for this...recomended,will be there again soon.

I strongly disagree with the last comment made. The food here is excellent and well worth the wait, even if it is 50 minutes! I would highly recommend the Roebuck, as the staff are friendly, the food is fresh and cooked to a great standard and the price is very reasonable. I urge everyone to try it!.

i was in today with a couple of friends. We were waitign 50 minutes for our meal and when i went to the bar to ask how long our food would be, it turned out that the man who took our order forgot to hand it in to the kitchen. absolutley ridiculous. I plan to steer clear in future.
