Reviews of Landgate Bistro, Rye

Best rates for a Local Hotel

The Landgate is a rare gem: a friendly and unpretentious neighbourhood restaurant that is nevertheless serious about cooking with the best of local produce. The surroundings and service are informal and the food is imaginative but never over-elaborate. Fish and seafood from the Rye fisheries are excellent, and soup-making is also a strength. Romney Marsh lamb is always good. The menu evolves slowly and seasonally with careful thought. Prices of both food and wine are very fair: one to return to regularly if possible!

Date visited: Regulary from 2005.
