Born 1940 - English fashion designer.
Studied at Medway College of Art, won scholarship to Royal College of Art. First dress collection was in 1969. British Designer of the Year in 1972. In 1984 won an Emmy award for her costumes in the television production of Romeo and Juliet. Made a CBE in 1997.
