Studied at Edinburgh Art College. Lived in France for 15 years before returning to Hawick. Elected member of Royal Scottish Academy in 1952. Her work can be found in many public galleries including the Tate Gallery, Royal Academy, Aberdeen Art Gallery and Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art in Edinburgh.
