Born 1931 - English Conservative politician.

Educated at Emmanuel College, Cambridge. Qualified as an accountant before being elected MP for Enfield West in 1970. Became of the Conservative Party in1981. Affair with this secretary forced his resignation, returned to Cabinet in 1987 as Secretary of State for Transport in Energy. Retired from politics in 1992. Made life peer the same year.
