Born 1867. Died 1945 - Irish historian and nationalsit.
Professor of Early Irish history at University College, Dublin (1908-45). Led the Irish Volunteers in 1913. Played part in organizing the new Sinn Fein Party. Supported Anglo-Irish Treaty. Was Minister for Education in first Irish Free State government.
