Clive Dunn
- Favourite Briton.

Born in Covent Garden, London
Born on 9th of January 1920
Died on 7th of November 2012
British hero of the week November 8th 2012

Clive Dunn, the son of two actors, was probably always destined for the theatre. He trained at the Italia Conti Academy and acted in some films as a schoolboy, before service in WWI (where he was a POW for four years) interrupted that career. After music hall and repertory jobs he moved into radio, working with Tony Hancock among others. His fame, however, rests on his part as septuagenarian Lance Corporal Jones in the sans pareil TV (and radio) sitcom Dad’s Army, a role he won when just 48.
