Michael McIntyre has got comedy in his blood, given his father wrote comedy scripts for the likes of Kenny Everett. He spent a year at Edinburgh University before quitting to try his hand at his father’s line of work, inevitably struggled for a time, and then as it were after years of hard work became an overnight success. His observational comedy style has been done by many others, but McIntyre lends it great physical energy on stage, has great stage presence, and clearly crafts every part of his routine. He has appeared on innumerable chat shows (including presenting his own) and panel games, but his forte remains live stage performances, these days to huge crowds.
