Charley Boorman is one of those people whose biography begins with mention of a parent, in his case the film director John Boorman, in several of whose films Boorman junior coincidentally appeared. He has since made a career out of ‘adventure’ TV series, where he and (on some trips) Ewan McGregor brave the dangers of the road, wilderness, or an extreme lack of tapenade, utterly alone save for a support crew.
