Born 1947 - English pop singer, songwriter and pianist.
Born Reginald Kenneth Dwight. Began career as pianist with the group Bluesology. Teamed up with lyricist Bernie Taupin. Album Elton John (1970) brought first solo success. Developed a flamboyant stage image and extrovert piano style. First Western rock star to play in Moscow. Owner and Chairman of Watford Football Club until 1993, now Life President.
