Born 1633. Died 1701 - King of Scotland and King of England and Ireland.

King of Scotland as James VII and King of England as James II. The second son of Charles I and brother of Charles II. Was the last Roman Catholic monarch to reign. He was distrusted because of his religious policies and was desposed in the Glorious Revolution. One made attempt to regain his throne but was defeated at the Battle of the Boyne in 1690. Returned to France and lived under the protection of King Louis XIV until he died in Saint-Germain-en-Laye.
