Studied at Cambridge. Concerned with human interpersonal relationships and human behaviour. Has published many research papers and books including Biological Bases of Human Social Behaviour (1974) and Individual Relationships and Culture (1987). Elected FRS in 1974 and made a CBE in 1988.
