Born Paul Martin. Performed as a stand-up comedian at the Comedy Store in London. Breakthrough in television came as a performer in the comedy show Whose Line Is It Anyway? Led to his own sketch show, Paul Merton: The Series. Appeared regularly on the television show Have I Got News For You and hosted the show Room 101. Has made radio appearances on Just A Minute and Sorry I Haven’t A Clue.
