Performed in a folk club and had surprise chart hit before appearing on television in An Audience with Jasper Carrott in 1978 followed by Carrott’s Lib and a number of other shows. Appeared in police drama spoof The Detectives and the sitcom All About Me. Part owner of the production company which made Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? Awarded an OBE in 2003.
