Began her career as a newspaper journalist in Weston super Mare. Worked for BBC Radio Devon before moving to the BBC in London. Became a television presenter of light entertainment and news programmes. Had fronted BBC programmes such as the Six O'Clock News, Breakfast News, Crimewatch and Holiday. Murdered outside her west London home in April 1999.
