Studied drama at Manchester University. Journalist before writing for stage full time. Produced eight hour adaptation of Dickens’s The Life and Adventures of Nicholas Nickleby (1980). Other works include Entertaining Stranger (1985) and The Shape of the Table (1990). Written television documentaries, radio plays and many adaptations.
