William Collingwood

Born 1854. Died 1932 - English artist and archaeologist.
Studied philosophy and aesthetics at Oxford then trained as an artist for four years. Moved to Coniston as private secretary to John Ruskin. Best known for archaeological studies on Viking remains in north of England and for Pilgrimage to the Saga-Steads of Iceland (1899).
