After meeting Malcolm Mclaren (manager of the Sex Pistols) they established a shop in London soon becoming leading creators of punk fashion. Since her split from Mclaren in 1983 she has become accepted by the mainstream and won Designer of the Year in 1990 and 1991. She was Professor of Fashion at the Vienna Academy of Applied Arts from 1989 to 1991.
