Events in Rochester | 10 Places to Stay
Rochester is a small historical village in the County of Northumberland. It's positioned in the very heart of the Northumberland National Park and is surrounded by dramatic moorland scenery and woodland. The village dates far back in time to the Romans who built a fort here, Breminium, which was built to protect the important, and strategic Roman artery of Dere Street which journeys through the village, and overlooks the Sills Burn which flows into the fast flowing Rede River. There are charming cottages dating back to the 17th Century, and a chance to explore a fascinating village not far from the borders of Scotland.
