I was quite dissapointed with the hotel in the sense it was quite dark, decoration was awful and dark again (grey and black duvets and curtains, dark red carpets..)the reception is on the first floor and rooms are on second and third and the stairs leading to all floors where filthy with leaves and dirtiness and there was a stale smell in them difficult to ignore. on the good side, the room was clean and the bed was comfortable. i would have paid 10 more for a more modern hotel as this one did not offer me the stylish old english hotel i was expecting.

The room was good, but with a few chips out of the paintwork and wallpaper. The standard of cleanliness was excellent. The room and bathroom were a good size. The beds were clean and comfortable. The electrical appliances all worked OK. The staff were friendly and helpful.
