Just returned from a 2 week holiday in Clacton and I took my children (5 and 1 yrs) to Rascals a few times while we were there. They loved it! The place was clean, staff were really friendly and my eldest loved the Picnic Box (Choc spread sandwiches, yum!)They do a great value after school deal which includes play and tea (hot food) for £4.50. There was plenty of room for my baby to play in a special area away from the bigger children and lots of slides and climbing frames for my eldest. They also have an outdoor area for when the weather is better. A great afternoon out!

I have to say I am amazed at the other review on this site which I came upon by accident. My children are regular visitors to Rascals on a Friday night when they run a kids disco. It is very well attended and of course there is lots of noise (that's what you would expect at a kids disco) and people do have to queue to get in. I have found that it is very well organised and the people that run it have a really strict behaviour code. Perhaps on the night the other visitor went the tanoy was out of action but unfortunately it is a fact of life that things do break down occasionally. I would strongly disagree with the other review and say my kids love it and have great fun with their friends.

on the above date i took my grandchildren to rascals, it was meant to be a supervised evening out for the kids so mums didnt have to wait there. it was at 6clock in the evening till 9clock. and it cost £3,50 each. well i have to tell you i never want to go there again it couldnt have been more unsupervised if they had tried, i never want to take my two grandchildren there again, iv never seen caos like it, the biger kids was screaming so loud it almost burst the ear drum, but what realy worried me was the pushing and shoving, and the little ones was getting knocked about all over the place, it was infact quite dangerous and no-one seemed to be able to control them, i realy didnt feel like i wanted to leave them, and all this was outside while we were queing up to go in, they should have had someone out there keeping them in order, it seems to me there only intrest is taking money. when i went back to collect the children i got my grandaughter but couldnt find my grandson, so i asked a member of staff to call him for on the loudspeaker only to be told it wasnt working, what a shambles that place is, its like looking for a needle in haystack, and that speaker should have been working, and i felt that this had to be brought to your notice, i do hope you email me back on this complaint, mrs maureen potte
