Being in the area after a 250 mile drive and having being told their was a pub in Angle, meeting a local residant who gave us directions, driving our small Camper Van across the beach in the dark, we were delighted to find The Old Point House. We were given an incredible warm welcolme helped by a roaring log fire. Mark the barman/Lifeboatman could not have been more hospitable as acting Landlord. We enjoyed a wonderful meal and spent the evening in the company of very friendly locals and visiting guests, so good in fact we came back the next evening and met tne Landlord who once again made a huge effort to make us welcome. Thank you to all who made it a special couple of days of our holiday.

I telephoned to ask if the pub was open all afternoon and was assured that it would be open. On arrival about 4pm there was a closed sign in the window and on hearing voices inside I knocked on the door which was promptly answered. The female member of staff who came to the door told me that they had thought there was rugby on and, as that was not to be, closed the pub. I explained that I had made a special journey after checking that they were to be open. She said she was sorry. I find it quite amazing that there was no invitation to enter and buy a drink far less being offered one "on the house". Hospitality nil and no way to run a business. After many enjoyable visits in the past, we shall not go again and it has spoiled our memories of the place.

This very old pub in Angle is absolutely wonderful, so much so that we returned four nights in a row! It is a beautiful building set near a charming village with a great beach down the road. The pub features a warming fire in a wonderfully old fireplace. The beer garden is of a large size with a nice view. The prices are unbelievably reasonable, in fact I was amazed at the low cost of drinks! We had an evening meal which was outstanding from presentation to taste. All the employees, especially the landlord were extremely friendly and excellent hosts. We had a great time and intend to stay in the pub next time we go on holiday. I thougourly recommend a visit if you're in the area!

Pub was recommended to us from Holiday Park in Tenby. Nice drive to get to Angle. Setting is lovely just wished the tide had been in to make it more picturesque. In warmer weather it would be great sitting outside. Lunch was home cooked and superb and it was good that they use local produce. No frozen chips! Definitely worth a visit. Landlord/chef very friendly and bar staff too.

We visited the Old Point House Inn this week and were really impressed with the food. We started with a mouth watering chowder followed by Pork loin in apple and cider sauce which was absolutely first class - accompanied by a delicious medley of fresh veg and new potatoes. Service was very friendly and efficient and the beers were good too. I would highly recommend this pub for food and ambience and friendliness. We were told also that the pub was recently taken over 6 months ago.

I have always loved (The Old Point House) in angle, but I called there last summer and had 2 bad receptions with food, and I have called there again recently and it was closed.I was with a party of 11 and we had walked the coast path and was rather hungary, so we procceded to the other pub in the village, where we had a lovely welcome, why is this pub closed all the time?. Thank you.

New landlord (and staff) have rejuvenated the atmosphere. We arrived by boat and were served a top class Sunday lunch, would recommend. Apparently the layout has been restored so the bar is as it was (when?) on the left as you enter, with the dining room on the right.

Couple years ago this used to be fab aldfashioned place with gorgeous food. Fresh fish, home made chowder, only place with laverbread souse... now this place is not existing. It is closed all the time, now good food, no nothing. And what happened with the best guiness in this part of wales? What happened with lovely polish waitressses?

We have been visiting the Point for over 20 years; it's changed a lot, but thankfully it remains one of the highlights of our annual trip to Angle. Despite a limited menu - equipment failure - we enjoyed a wonderful home cooked meal and the staff were as welcoming as ever. Looking forward to next year already...

I read the reviews and was amazed at the bad ones. Must be different people running it now, as there are no dogs, no bad manners or grumpiness. They are very polite and attentive, the food is all home cooked and delicious and very reasonable priced. I highly recommend this pub for it's fantastic location virtually on the beach, amazing views, lovely garden all wooden tables have umbrellas if you need shade. There is a friendly old fashioned pub atmosphere, for quality, this is definitely my favourite pub in the area, I will be back.

The Old Point House is situated in an atmospheric location, perched at the easternmost point of North Hill, overlooking Angle Bay. The pub has a long history as a hostelry for seafarers and lifeboatmen and more recently has been entered in publications for lovers of good food and beer. A wide variety of freshly caught fish has featured in the menus, along with meat and vegetables cooked creatively. The new proprietors have therefore certainly had to face a challenge. A few recent visits by myself and friends have unfortunately been disappointing in a number of respects. The resident young barman is friendly and efficient; so far, so good. The first problem is the whereabouts of a menu. There don't appear to be any printed ones that you can peruse comfortably in your hands. A whiteboard in the bar suffices, with scribbled items that do not inspire confidence or the production of saliva. Some of the pre-prepared dishes are tasty, the chips seem to be 'homemade' and are good, the salads are ok but dull. All this is fine as sustenance in a run-of-the-mill pub, but that's not what this pub is about. Worst of all is the lack of a range of freshly caught fish. This is Milford Haven after all! Perhaps worse still, I agree with the 'watershed' for youngsters viewing TV, but when orders for food cease well before that time in a pub for adults I sigh in despair. It's not all bad. It's a wonderful building and it's still a great place for a drink and to enjoy the atmosphere. But as far as the food is concerned, I recommend that the proprietors visit The Stackpole Inn to see how it should be done.

We booked ourselves in what we thought would be a great slap up meal, turned into a joke. They ran out of starter by 7pm so my husband and I had to share the last bowl of crab 'salad' which was a bowl of coleslaw, which had obviously been sitting in the fridge all day. The service was laid back to the point of non-existence. We waited an hour for the salmon main course to arrive and this was raw in the middle. At that point we just paid for our wine and 'starter' and left. We will be going to the Hibernia pub in future and if you want to travel further afield we recommend the Stackpole Inn if you want to treat yourselves!

Visited the Old Point House for a drink firstly on 7th July 2008 and got cut off by the high tide and decided to go back for a meal. Myself and partner had a couple of great meals during the week we were staying in the area. The staff and owners were extremely friendly and very welcoming. We are regular visitors to the area and will be frequenting the establishment again in the future. And the locals were great too! See you again before the year is out George and Nicky

Pricey food of poor quality, refused refund on complaint. Bad management with an attitude to match. Would not recommend it to my worst enemy.

This place is really a rare treat. Beautiful old pub, great food with huge portions, very friendly owners, lovely resident dogs. We were made to feel very welcome by the owners and felt part of their family while we were there.

I have been to the Point House many times and have always had a fantastic meal there. However, our meal on Saturday was a huge let down. It was poorly cooked and tasteless, and the service was also bad. To top it all off, once we complained about the meal, the landlord came and had a go at us infront of everyone in the restaurant. Very rude and will certainly not be going back for a long time, which is a shame as it's a lovely pub in a great location.

great location, used to be a nice pub full of locals and sailors under the old regime- now attempting to go up market and lost a lot of its character- new landlord hates kids and is grumpy- better off at the hibernian inn which is where i'll be in a couple of days.

The location of the Old Point House on the coastal path is welcome break after a couple of hours walking but the unfriendliness and lack of good manners by the proprietors somewhat lets them down. I will not be returning in a hurry.
