What an amazing place. I couldn't have been better welcomed if I had been a member of the family. I had coffee at 11.30 and a lovely pint of Draught Bass at 12.00. Food was good home made and very wholesome. Clearly there is banter between the landlady and the locals. Very entertaining. I am going back and taking the family.

Great beer garden in peaceful setting with pretty flowers. Excellent place for little children to run around. Service was very friendly. There is a children's menu. All round an excellent pub for lunch on a fine day.

I visited this pub at the end of a long day's cycling having been told it did food. It did a good pint of Abbot's, but I would not recommend it for the passing traveller. The landlady and several of the habituees gave me the evil eye, and getting fed meant joining the locals for a barbecue, which would have been fun if they had been friendly. Which they weren't. A not altogether comfortable experience.
