Just visited on speck for sunday tea, dissapointed is an understatement , some pubs can do decent meals and some should just stick to beer. The service was slow, things undercooked , overcooked , my chicken/steak sizzler was very dissapointing , hardly any meat but great if you like fried onion/carrot/peppers as there was loads . Maybe should have had more to drink before I ate. I voiced my dissapointment to be met with a couldnt care less attitude , I had to pay the full amount for a substandard meal my family and I ate, somehow dont think we'll bother going again . Any amount of money would be too much. My advice DONT GO . .

we visited this pub to celebrate a family birthday. what a disaster! my husband and I both ordered beef Wellington, and it was terrible; inside was a lyer of pink pate and a lump of meat that we couldn't cut through, it was so fatty and tough. When we complained, the manageress was very rude and said that as we'd eaten most of the vegetables and chips, we had to pay for the whole meal. In the end, she walked away and said 'just pay the bill and forget about sweets'. We then had to return to out table and tell the rest of the party that sweets were cancelled! We then had to buy some cakes from the local Co-op!! We certainly won't be returning and will make sure that we tell as many people as we can , not to visit.DO NOT GO THERE- EVEN IF YOU ARE DESPERATE!!

17 of us went for christmas dinner, £35 / head. The day was a disaster there. The tables didnt have all the cutlery no wine glasses. The food was slowon every course and some had eaten whilst others were still being served. Food orders got mixed up. Between courses we had to sit with dirty dishes on the table for 30 mins+. Cutlery was coming over to us in dribs and drabs - whilst food on the table went cold. Main meals were a huge let down, what was supposed to be medium fillet steak were dried up (and curled up) gristly sirloins. Wasnt worth more than £10 / head. Service very poor also. There was complaints going back to the kitchen at the time of the poor food - no discount given off the bill. The owner obviously being greedy and trying to cater for chrismtas dinners - which the place is not capable of doing. Its poor pub grub - nothing else, cant really be called a restaurant, and certainly shouldnt be attempting to be something its not. Be warned!
