After over an hour of waiting for our Sunday lunch a free drink was given in apology. When the meal did arrive we had burnt yorkshires, burnt roast potatoes snd weak soggy veg.Beef was tough and gristle Agreed the yorkies were replaced but with a similar burnt offering.Needless to say no charge made and i left still without a Sunday meal. went home to beans on toast. I wont bother with THE ROSE again.

I found the pub to be as good as it's menu, although one of the bar staff seemed particularly disinterested in serving the customers and more intent in annoying the rest of the staff. I believe his name was Fluffy, but I can't believe this is his real name! The decor and menu were wholly pleasant and even the smoke from the vast smoking area seemed to stay away from those dining (like myself).
Very nice apart from the man mentioned and would recommmend to all.
