Even though we booked at the last minute everything went to plan for my Mothers 77th birthday party and her 30 guests, the service and food were first class, the chef even found time to make a large birthday cake, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

The Angel has recently (February 2007) been taken over by a chef. His lunchtime menu is very good value. You can either have £5.00 lunch which is for example, various baguettes, mini fish or cottage pie or even a mini roast plus a soft drink or 1/2 of beer. Go large for £6.00 which will give you a pint of beer or a glass of wine plus the food above. There are also special menus for children. Also lunchtimes there are other items on the menu, all of which are good value.
In the evening, it becomes The Apricot Restaurant. The menu varies day to day, whatever is fresh. Not exactly sure of the price of one or three courses, but 2 courses is £15.50. There is always good selection of fish and vegetarian dishes. Tuesday nights is steak nights, with steak and a pint (wine) being £10.00.
I really can't tell you how good the food is. Try it yourself.

Under new management and completely refurbished, The bar offers a great range of drinks including some very unusual beers, great gastro pub style menu, fantastic service. Overall a lively atmosphere and very welcoming
