I have been in many times over the last few months and the food has been really good. They are happy to accomodate the slightly fussy eater who doesn't like sauces and as far as I can see all the food is home cooked to a very high standard. I would suggest that the previous reviewer give it another try. Huband also very keen on the real ales they have in.

My father and I visited the Stalbridge Arms and could not agree less with the review above, The steak was tough as old boots, I wouldn't feed it to the dog. It was accompanied by limp, sad looking plate of vegetables. The vegetarian meal was described as a vegetable burger with cheese in the centre. It looked as it had come staight out of a packet. The whole meal was disgusting and massively over priced.

New owners since Dec 2008. Open all day. Good food - Tuesday and Thursday are special deals. Good steaks from local supplier. Keen footy pub but you can get away from it ok. Locals v. friendly!!

1st time i bothered to go back in the place since it was closed down last year. What a pleasant surprise. Gone was the old dark dingy decor with little to welcome a passing stanger and in with the modern comfy seating, decent real ale and modestly priced sarni for lunch. Pubs close on a regular basis these days and gladly this is one that has risen from its past. Only hope the locals are giving it the support it deserves as I only pass through occasionally.

Must disagree with the other reviewer who was not impressed with Stalbridge Arms. We were there in the village, visiting family, in June 2006 and found the meals we had in that pub on three separate occasions very tasty and good value. Locals seemed to agree with this and we spoke to one local bloke who had his lunch there at least 3 times a week. Pity that the pub seemed to have closed down on our last visit to the village in 08.

AFTER VISITING THE STALBRIDGE ARMS LAST NIGHT WE WONT BE GOING AGAIN, IT WAS VERY AVERAGE PUB FOOD THAT WAS EXTREMILY OVER PRICED! THEY BROUGHT OUT 3 SLICES OF GARLIC/ CHEESE BREAD AND CHARGED US £11.25 !!!!!!!!!!! FOR THEM. p>Date visited: 06/05/06
