Finally gave in and went to try the chinese with friends Ann and Bob and we are so glad we did. The food was great and as much as you could eat too. Guest beer was just awesome. Mike really made us welcome and into rock music too so obviously a fine fella!. The smoking area is about the best we've seen too. We will be back without a doubt, in fact been planning an easy cycle route from the house for as soon as the rain stops. (May be a bit wobbly going back though!)
looking forward to trying the curry and tapas now! Strongly recommended

We eat at the Hazel Pear fairly often with friends. A really welcoming pub with friendly staff. The food is tasty, real homecooked and served hot, good size portions too. We have also tried the Tapas and Curry nights, both offer good quality food for a great price.
An excellent family friendly pub, kids love the little playground and the animals.

4 of us went to the Hazel Pear last night for tapas and there is only one word to describe it....excellent. From walking into the welcoming and friendly pub with the fire burning away, to the attentive and thoughtful staff, to the stunning food and the amazing price....it was simply superb.
We have eaten there a couple of times and the food has been consistently good but the tapas menu really cannot be beaten. Even the wine that comes included in the price of the tapas was great.
We can't wait to return...but are also thinking of trying the Thursday evening Indian buffet too.

Tapas for a Tenner on Friday night was brilliant. We tried 16 dishes between four and all were top quality. Highly recommended - I can't remember when we had such good value for money. And the staff are lovely. What's not to like?

Went to try the tapas and had a great meal. Good quality, variety and value (especially with the 4 for £10 and free glass of wine). The sangria also knocks your socks off! Will be back soon.

I am a huge fan of Tapas, so when the Hazel Pear advertised a Friday night Tapas special, I didn't hesitate...
Fantastic value for money was the introductory offer of 4 dishes for £10 with a free glass of wine (which was excellent, and as my partner doesn't drink, I had his too!). There was a choice of around 20 dishes, ranging from sseafood to lamb skewers, with plenty of choice for vegetarians.
Two of my dishes were mushrooms in a cream and garlic sauce and black pudding on baguette with spiced onions, which were outstanding. My partner had the spicy ribs which just fell off the bone they were so tender. All the dishes were excellent, and the pub has a fantastic atmosphere. Hosts Sue and mike are very friendly and welcoming, and I think Sue has a career as a tapas chef nailed! Just as good as the tapas bars I have eaten in. 100% recommended!

We stumbled on this pub today on a drive out with the children, very impressed with the pubs facilities. The food was really nice and were the puddings, clean plate by all. The children enjoyed feeding the animals, especially Lilly the pig and Trevor the goat! then they played on the play area. The staff were very friendly and i would definatly recommend this pub to a friend, and will be returning soon, so nice to eat out nowadays with home cooking instead of frozen food, and service with a smile!!!

I recently took some fellow bowlers to the pub for a fun bowling day out. I was very impressed with the whole set up. Our bowlers were so chuffed with it all, that they want to go there again soon. Nick the son of the owners was most helpfull in the absence of his parents that day. All the staff were most helpful and the food is excellent. Well done you lot.!!!!!!!!

A proper country pub with excellellent food and service. Pat and I always get a warm welcome from Mike and Sue when we visit most Saturday evenings. Pat loves the fish & chips (to die for)! I will try anything and everything, love those home made chips.
Give it a try, you won't be dissappointed.

I came with a group of ladies from the Rural Business Women and had our lunch upstairs in your large room. We had a presentaion by Davenports Florists and for that the room was very good but I have to say that I was very disappointed to find that the food, which in itself was disappointing, was served on paper plates with plastic Knives and forks. I would have thought that with such wonderful reviews it would have been in your interests to at least serve the food with reasonable crockery and cutlery. This is purely my own opinion but I must say that your staff were very pleasant and so were your facilities. Thank you for your hospitality.

When visiting England I never miss the chance to drop in at the Hazel Pear.
The service is always fantastic and the food is second to none, all meals are freshly made with the mash potatoes made from real spuds and not the packet stuff.
The proprietors and their staff are very friendly (ask Sue for her duck impersonation.
The beer gargen overlooks the garden with the childrens zoo a highlight for any children.

We have had evening meals before in the Hazel Pear all were excellent For a change we booked for a party of five for the set three course Sunday lunch menu £9. Worth every penny a choice of pork, beef or lamb and a choice of sweets. We enjoyed the excellent food served by a cheerful helpful staff. More than enough to eat and drink I wouldn't hesitate in recommending the Hazel Pear.
