We booked this pub for our elderly Aunts birthday, whilst the pub was nice and the staff friendly it was a dissapointing experience. Poor customer service, we had to request one of the starters to be sent back as it was under cooked, we ordered cheese and biscuits and yet they had run out of biscuits?? The main course where most of us chose the beef or pork lunch was okay, and we surprised that no condiments such as mustard or horseradish sauce were on the table and by the time they arrived most people had nearly finished. The beef appeared to be of a poor cut. The Yorkshire took up all the plate which was fine except there was no extra gravy on the table and given the amount on there to begin which was poultry it really needed more. All in all the experience was a let down and we felt that the staff needed further guidance when looking after a large party of 14. Would think twice before returning.

Excellent food. Friendly efficient service. I have eaten at the George many times over the last few years and have never been disappointed. Every meal has been superb including Christmas day menu. Always a wonderful, enjoyable and memorable experience.

Droped in for first time visit and Lunch today as is in our region and right on the A14 (easy on and off the A14), located in the middle of the lovely little village of Spaldwick. Ample off road parking with easy access front or back entries. Reminded my lunch partner of a Bistro. Atmosphere was warm and friendly, in a neat, clean and refreshing decor that made one think they were in London. Large ample bar with a fine selection of real ale and wines from the cellar. Better than most in this category of beverage selection. At lunch we had our choice from the Restaurant menu or the days more than ample Bar menu of wholesome food. You can eat from either menu in the ample bar area (lots of elbow room) and comfortable chairs/tables. Or we could have had a Restaurant menu meal in the Restaurant itself. The Restaurant is quite large with a high beam ceiling giving yet even more atmosphere to the Inn for dinning quests. Drop in from the A14 and enjoy some of the best food and drink in Cambridgeshire... I will go back again you can be sure! Larry
