Excellent food on all the occasions I have visited, great Yorkshires, crispy roast potatoes soft middles, meat cooked to perfection, wine reasonable , some handsome people frequent this establishment on occasions. Dogs welcome on lead. Under new ownership, talented family

Now under new management, this pub set in the cownley common area, a lovely secluded location,is the oldest pub in downley, originally a 17th century bakery. the atmosphere is welcoming, with a log fire and friendly staff. the food was freshly prepared and tasty, the beer is good. A bit hard to find but we recommend a visit
