Castle cary is the best holiday my family and i have been to in ages.We enjoyed ourselfs so much and will be visiting it in a regular basis for as long as we possibly can. The kids loved the facilities on site especcially the indoor and outdoor heated pools. We were on holiday at castle cary and only left the site 2 days out of the 7 we were there because there was so much for the kids to do from horse riding to fishing and from swimming to the park.I go caravaning regulary and it is the best site we have ever visited. It is very family orientated and the toilets and showers are emaculately clean

This visit was the 1st time we have ever been to castle cary and I have to say we will definently be returning, the staff and people we met were all very helpful, the facilities were extremely clean and well looked after, the lairds inn on site had just been taken over by new management and we were told to try it by the receptionist that the meals were great we were a bit wary to be honest but I have to say the food the service everything was out of this world the best meal we have had in a very long time, the kids spent there whole time between the dance mat in the gamesroom and the outdoor heated pool. Great time had by all

myself and my family came across this park by pure luck, and I have to say what a find, the reception staff were very helpful and so welcoming and we were even showed where to park, the lairds inn which is the pub on the site was outstanding the food was brilliant, the toilets and showers were kept very clean and tidy, the kids loved the outdoor swimming pool, I would highly recommend this park to my family and friends and we have booked to go back in july.

After reading through the AA caravan & Camping book for 2006, we decided to visit Castle Cary Holiday Park for 4 or 5 nights "5 star" camping. On arrival all seemed well until we went to check out the toilet and shower facilities. We could not believe this site had been given a 5 star rating. The toilet block in our area was Unisex (which some may not mind, but it is not for me), with 6 w.c. cubicles and 4 shower cubicles which were all in need of cleaning and upgrading. There were only 2 power sockets, no shelving or vanity area, no hooks in the showers, no dry area and what became evident after a few visits, half of the toilets did not flush, toilet seats were either hanging off or broken completely, the lights did not work in some and there was no toilet paper or soap in others. At no time during our stay could we have said that the toilets appeared to be fresh and clean. There were other toilets available which were not unisex, but unfortunately they were quite a walk from our pitch, so we ended up driving to them as they were marginally cleaner than ours. We felt that these facilities badly let down what is quite a nice site with plenty to occupy children and a good, not over priced bar and restaurant. The other problem for us was the noise from the A75 which runs directly in front of the site and there is no let up through the night, it is busy 24/7. As a result of these factors we cut short our holiday and left after only 3 nights. We have been camping quite regularly over the last 3 years and have been to an assortment of campsites, but this was by far the worst we have been to and we will not be returning.
